Frequently Asked Questions

Appliances can be tricky business. When it comes to getting service on your home appliances, don’t get trapped by confusing sales pitches and less than transparent service agreements.

At Lake Appliance Repair our charges and policies are crystal clear the moment you book service.

The service charge is waived when you use us to complete the repair.  Our service charge ranges from $125.00 to $200.00, depending on your service area. This charge covers the cost of bringing a fully trained technician with a fully stocked mobile service shop to your home.

The service charge will be paid when you schedule your appointment. This guarantees your appointment slot on the day and time you choose for the repair. Your appointment slot cannot be guaranteed if the service charge hasn’t been paid prior to the date of service.*

During your appointment, our technician will provide you an estimate for the cost of labor and parts, if needed. This service charge will be waived if you approve the estimate and have us repair the appliance.

*If your appliance is covered under warranty, the service charge does not have to be paid up front when warranty coverage can be verified with a model and serial number, concession number, or policy.

Labor costs vary depending on the type of repair and appliance needing service. Typical labor rates range from $190-350, but can be as much as $500+ for highly complicated issues.

Labor rates are NOT based on the time a technician spends in the home. Operating a service organization involves costs that are unseen by the customer that are vital to perform prompt and efficient service. Examples of these costs are the technician’s ongoing training expense, costly test equipment, office personnel, rent, parts inventory, and much more.

You are hiring an entire company for fast and efficient service, rather than the technician alone. That is why we base our labor charges on industry standards for each individual type of repair.

Every complete repair is covered by our standard 1 year parts and 90 day labor warranty.

  • 5 Year Non-Electronic Parts Warranty (on parts we supply and install, some exclusions may apply)
  • 1 Year Labor
  • 30 Days on Service Call

The warranty applies only when you have paid us directly for a particular repair. Otherwise, your warranty is only the duration of the warranty you have with the manufacturer and/or extended warranty company.

Most large home appliances come with a standard 1 year manufacturer warranty that covers parts and labor. If your appliance was delivered within the past 12 months, then your repair will likely be covered by a manufacturer warranty.

If your appliance was delivered more than 12 months ago, then you may still have a warranty. Appliances like refrigerators and washing machines often come with a 2-10 year warranty that covers parts only (and sometimes labor). Refer to your owner’s manual for your product’s warranty information.
