Viking Built-in Refrigerator Recall

On July 25, 2013, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of the Viking built-in 36-inch wide refrigerator with bottom freezer. The recall report stated that the refrigerator’s doors can detach during use, causing a potential hazard to consumers. Viking has received a total of 39 incident reports about the malfunctioning door, twelve of which involved personal injuries such as fractures, bruises, strains, and cuts. Twenty-five consumers reported minor property damage. The 39 incidents are in addition to the 57 reports previously received by Viking in 2009.
