50th Orangevale Pow Wow Days

This is a momentous year for the city of Orangevale, as they will be celebrating their 50th Annual Orangevale Pow Wow Days Town and Country Fair.  This classic family-oriented event will include attractions such as a community parade, carnival rides and games, highly-skilled artisans, hands-on activities, live entertainment, mouthwatering specialty foods, traditional county fair displays, and a wide variety of local vendors.  The goal of this event is to help serve the community of Orangevale through supporting local youth programs and stimulating

patronage for local businesses and merchants.  The event is sponsored by the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce, which also utilizes the assistance of community businessmen, civic leaders, and ordinary citizens who want to donate their time and energy to a great cause.  Over the last 49 years, the country fair has highlighted, promoted, and fiscally supported over 15 schools and youth athletic and service programs, as well as provided local crafters and vendors with a public forum to sell their products.

This charming community event has provided low-cost family entertainment and stimulation for the local economy since 1963.  In its year of conception, this grand celebration was first known as “Chuck Wagon Days,” but later changed its name to “Fiesta Days” in 1964, and again in 1965 to what ultimately became its permanent namesake, “Pow Wow Days.”  It originally consisted of just a modest, low-budget, one-day-long parade running down the now residential Central Avenue, but in 1971 the location of the procession was changed to the larger, more accommodating Hazel Avenue, and the event itself was extended to four full days and nights.  Parade participants continue to include a variety of local businesses and establishments, community groups, sports teams, clubs, local representatives, emergency services, and other entertainers.

Lake Appliance Repair will have a booth at this year’s Orangevale Pow Wow Days, so come be one of the over 12,000 expected attendees to visit us and find out more about what we do, and who we are as a company.  The fair will be held on Thursday, May 16th through Sunday, May 19th at Orangevale Community Park, 7301 Filbert Avenue.  Parking will cost $5.00, but admission is free for all ages, so come join us at this fun, affordable, and safe event for the whole family!
