Our company, which was initially a humble operation, has grown exponentially and is now the most renowned appliance repair enterprise in Northern California, Western Nevada, Hawaii, Montana, Oklahoma, Idaho, and several other states.
Born and raised in New Zealand, Scott McConnell initially pursued a career as an auto mechanic. However, his move to America in 1998 marked a turning point in his professional journey. Leveraging his technical skills and a deep-seated passion for customer service, he pivoted towards appliance repair. The seed for Lake Appliance Repair was thus planted, and the company has been thriving ever since, with Scott’s dedication to treating customers right as its cornerstone.
Krystle McConnell, co-owner and key driving force behind Lake Appliance Repair, draws her entrepreneurial spirit from her family roots. Her great uncle, Founder of Taco Bell, instilled in her a profound understanding of business growth and the value of excellent service. This inspiration, combined with Scott’s unwavering dedication, has been instrumental in the expansion of Lake Appliance Repair across 12 states.
Our company’s logo, depicting a New Zealand silver fern, is more than just an artistic choice. It symbolizes the resilience and work ethic that Scott brought from his homeland to the shores of America. In New Zealand culture, the silver fern represents strength, resistance, and endurance—qualities that are deeply ingrained in the fabric of Lake Appliance Repair.

At Lake Appliance, we spend a lot of time, effort and money on engaging with our team. We often have bowling nights where any employee or vendor is invited to bring friends and family along. We have done camp trips, fishing trips, golf days, baseball and basketball games.
We refer to our employees as friends or workmates and treat them as equals no matter what position they hold in the company. Everyone’s birthday and start date anniversaries are celebrated along with other milestones like buying a new house or earning higher education while working for the company.
The Early days of Lake Appliance
Scott & Krystle McConnell run Lake Appliance Repair together. They met in 2003 while working for a small business in Folsom, CA. They quickly realized how well they worked together and instantly became partners in crime.
In 2005, Scott decided to go into business for himself after seeing the need for high-quality appliance repair technicians in the Sacramento area. It took Krystle less than 6 months to decide to join him. She knew there was a huge demand for an appliance repair company that was committed to providing a great service experience while also providing a great work-life for its employees.
Drawing on Scott’s skills as an appliance technician and Krystle’s expertise in scheduling and administration, they streamlined operations and now provide appliance repair in 12 states with over 80 employees.
Lake Appliance Expansion
Lake Appliance now offers service in 12 states with over 80 employees. We have expanded our services to include small refrigerated trailer rentals as well as appliance distribution.
We have made it a priority over the years to keep our core values at the heart of what we do every day, no matter how far we expand.

The United Appliance Servicers Association holds an annual nation-wide contest for appliance repair companies.
